Post by Maxi » Sun Dec 02, 2007 11:39 pm

Hi, I am Maxi. I am from La Rioja, Argentina. I will translate a part of the Installation Manual to Spanish.

I would like to solve a programming task but there arent any. But I believe that translating is important to help improve my english, so I decided to choose this task.
I am using joomla for a Community web site. I have used it for 4 months.

Well, that's all    :)

Just before you start, Maxi:

There are some translation efforts. As you probably know, the 1.5 language files are published here
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/spanishlanguage/

and joomlaspanish publish their own files too.

It would be nice if you take a look at the language files first, to be consistent (the same wording).

There are some translation resources, like Debian, the EU dictionaries and technical translations. And take in mind that we use "neutral Spanish".

If you don't have any preferences I could ask to our TPs if there's any part they would like to translate first.

Feel free to use my email addy.

Maxi sent me his work for a review. It was my mistake: we were exchanging information via chat and email.

Of course, I'd like the Spanish Language coordinator to review his work too. I will contact him to get his final approval.

Hi!
The translation is finished. I worked with MS Office. I am having problems to convert the files to odt, so I will visit a friend to help me.
Then where should I put my work?
Can a send a .zip with all the files, including pictures?
Thanks!

Hi,

Great. The you can attach a file here, but you also need to go to the google project site and attach the file there since that is where the task will be offcially closed.
So we must fix our vision not merely on the negative expulsion of war, but upon the positive affirmation of peace. MLK 1964.

Thank you, mcsmom.

I will do the conversion from doc to odt and send the final work to Maxi, as he can't install Open Office and the plugin provided by Sun  doesn't work on his local machine. Then he will upload the files and ask both translation Partners for an evaluation of his work.
