I am looking very seriously into starting an Installable Magento ecommerce Component for Joomla 1.5 or/and 1.0.x and hopefully Mambo.
http://www.magentocommerce.comI am looking at doing this in a non profit club that people pay a small amount of money annually to be part of, they then have access to all the files that are released by ourselves.
I am willing to pay a freelancing company to build the first installer using the current version of Magento, out of my own money, and then use future member payments to pay for the Magento updates to be added to the component installer.
This is a genuine non profit idea, the members fees will be purely only there to pay for development of the component installer to match the magento shopping system, and any money left over will be used to build extra features/modules/payment-gateways that could also be donated to the magento community if the code will work for them as well.
I cant do it for free, as i don't have the time to build this installer on my own, so i will need to outsource it. Any donated help will of course be very gratefully accepted, i may even be able to pay for good help as part of the club. This means that commercial development could happen and fall within the guidelines of the licence, as people are paying to be part of the club for support not the code.
I REALLY want a small team of pro-supporters to help people struggling. As this is what is missing from many other open-source solutions. This means if you want to modify a part of the system or just have advice on why something is wrong we maybe able to have a small team that are paid to be there and give advice fast when you need it. This should mean all forum posts are answered with educated answers rather than waiting for weeks or months for answers whilst your clients wait.
The membership price im looking at is about £25 (British Pounds) per year, do you think that is too much for this kind of service?
Regards
Ian
