Joomla version 1.0.13
JCE version 1.1.8

User set up with JCE as default WYSIWYG editor.
JCE Admin shows JCE Editor as primary editor.

When I go to Components - JCE Admin - JCE Layout

I see the JCE Layout Manager section.

there is no WYSIWYG editor, only a list of bulleted text of all the plugins. The text is simply that, text, not interactable.

What do I need to do to see the WYSIWYG editor there?

It looks like this:

JCE Layout Manager

Only the buttons of Commands & Plugins that have been published are represented here. Drag & Drop a button from one row into another, or within the same row to adjust the layout. The grey area represents the Editor User Interface. Buttons must fall within this area. The blue rectangles indicate the boundry of each row.

The Image Manager and Image Manager SE plugins are represnted here by a single image icon, the AdvLink and AdvLink SE plugins by a single link icon, as only one of each type of plugin can be active at any time.

The editor will show when you create or edit a content.
Parameters for the editor are also to be set in the mambot part of JCE under Mambot Manager.

Joomla 1.0.15
JCE mambot 1.1.8
JCE Admin 1.1.1

I am experiencing a similar problem; no WYSIWYG editor on a content page. The original editors work fine, and FCK works as well. When in the JCE Admin, I am able to configure and see the WYSIWYG toolbars. But, when I go into edit content, the toolbars are absent, only seeing HTML.

I did need to manually add the Mambot as I ran into the "blank page" rather than a "success" page when trying to install the JCE mambot. On the JCE mambot page, I do not see any of the credits or parameters displayed on a normal install.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks!
Ralph

Is see this a really old, post but I have the same problem and don't know how to solve it.
I am using joomla 1.5.14
and JCE 157

JCE group manager: layout shows the following:

And in "Adit article" mode it looks like this:
http://screencast.com/t/HGek2bf7cmzc

Does anyone know what is the reason for that?

I am by no means an expert, but if your problem is that you don't see the wysiwyg editor at all, you have to go to what is is you want to create, for instance if you want a new section, go to content>section>new , and the editor will be there. This is on Joomla 1.5.15.

hope it helps some.
