Hello.

When I try to load the admin back end, the address bar keeps loading http://www.mysite.com/installation.php

I have deleted the installation folder, reinstalled the installation folder and still getting the same error.

I have deleted the database 2 and reinstalled Joomla 1.5 and I am getting the same error everytime.

The error that comes on when i try to load mysite.com is as follows: No configuration file found and no installation code available. Exiting...

The error when I try to load http://www.mysite.com/administrator (which inturn reverts back to installation.php) is : The basic error 404

Everything else with the install went swell. One thing I am unsure about is my tables. I see now user added from the cfg file. And also I had to edit the cfg even after the installation, because it did not enter the Admin un/pw, nor did it enter mySQL information either.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. :pop :pop :pop

Thanks

Lesh

http://www.youjoomla.com/how-to-install-joomla-1.5.html

I watched the video and did what he said when you get the XML error when loading the sample data.
And thus when I remove the installation folder and click on the link to proceed, I get this message: Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL

I am at my wits end. When I installed earlier versions I had issues. But this one takes the cake.

Please help.

Thanks
Lesh

The easiest way to avoid this error is to do this is at install: Do not rename the configuration.php-dist file. Leave it as is. Then at the end of installation it will give you the info needed to go inside that file. Now rename the file first to configuration.php and then open in your editor then replace all content with the content it provided you in last step of install process. Upload configuration.php back to your server and change the permissions to 777 and you will be all set to play with your CMS. But before you do remember to delete the install directory or else it wont let you go any further.
