Hey Omaha...how goes the battle? Amy emailed me yesterday when we did our little announcement of our event coming up in May. Gotta pop in and say hey. Hope y'all are makin' tracks.

Cheers.

No battle in Omaha - just busy schedules - I think we are all working on J! too much :P

Drop me a line when you get a chance. Would love to catch up on your activities in Chicago.

Thanks!
Amy :)

I "ought" to be able to make the April 1 meeting unless something drastic comes up at work. Anyone else?? The weather ought to be supportive for a change!

Hello,

My name is Thomas Blechschmidt and I am fairly new to Joomla. I live in the Omaha area and am interested in your group. What exactly does your group do? I thought I would share a few website with you that I created using Joomla.

http://www.monarchautomotive.com/store
http://www.turningheadsomaha.com
http://www.reasonablelawncare.com
http://www.fizzolabz.com

I am also founder and creator of: http://www.myomahaspace.com
If interested, I thought this group may like to create a similar group on MyOmahaSpace seeing as it is a local website dedicated to Omaha, Nebraska and surrounding areas. (the site is less than 1 week old)

Anyway, my purpose is not to promote anything, but just introduce myself. I am excited to see fellow Joomla users in my home town! I work abroad most of the year but will be in Omaha between April 16th and May16th.

I look forward to frequenting this group. Thank you.

Hey everyone, I am going to migrate all of my Joomla sites to a new server this month. Is there anything I should watch out for? Any pointers for a successful transfer? Thank you in advance. :geek:

Fizzolab,

I don't know how you are doing it. I recommend the Joomlapack component to back up and transfer sites.

http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1606/Itemid,35/

Before you begin, make sure you have your new MYSQL DB info. Also, be prepared to have to tweak things. If you have any absolute urls in your site at all (i.e. http://www.oldsite.com/images/image.png) those will need to be revised.

Moving a site can be a real pain. Joomlapack does a pretty good job, but Murphy law is always lurking about :-)

Dean

Looks like no takers. I know Amy isn't going to make it. We will have to try for another day.

Hi everyone -

I've been using Joomla! for a while now (but I'm not an expert by any means :p ) and I'd love to meet others locally. Is there an e-maling list or is this the only place to connect?

Thanks -

Wendy Harlow

We should plan a time that is more than a few days ina the future and hopefully everyone can make it. So, let's plan now for May. Any thoughts?

So anyone still do these meet ups at all? I am looking at starting a new Joomla podcast and something like this would be perfect to get multiple people together in one place for an open forum Joomla podcast. Let me know if anyone out there is still meeting up in Omaha, NE with other Omaha Joomla users.

To be honest, we have not met for a few months... but we are all to blame for that. We need to! :)

Are you from the Omaha area? Interested in joining?
