Hello, congratulations for your great plugin !!

A question : is there a way to make a module from your plugin ? There's not good related item modules on joomla 1.5. This one by default is very poor.

Anyway, thank you for this nice contribution

Hi,
this is really great plugin - i love content plugins :)
I have a question: how this plugin generate related item for each article? it isn't using metadata information, so i cann't understant how to make this plugin more flexible.

EDIT: ups :D my mistake - it does use keywords :)

Hi,
you are right! this plugin use the default keywords in metadata information like related module works, each keyword is separated by character ','

One question: I think plugin is enough, why you want to use a module?

I login with admin account, I still see keyword in meta information box (see attached image file). For using related news items, you should give key word in keyword field of meta information box (each one separated by ',').

i make a newspaper online and i need to display on the right of the article, the related items. There are too much things at the bottom (comments, tags, etc....).

I also notice that the related items appear after jom comments, even moving the order of the content plugins in the backend

This plugin is called by onPreparecontent event, so if other plugin is called by onafterdisplaycontent, the plugin is always in the top of others. I will try to change this.

I also creat a module, you can see at http://xahoihoctap.net/webs/joomla15/la ... -mung.html
It's that you wish.

Thanks.
I mean, until now I do not know how to call and using a language file such vi-VN.plugin_extranews.ini in Joomla 1.5.x ( I declare laguage files in plugin_extranews.xml., see my file http://xahoihoctap.net/webs/joomla15/pl ... ranews.xml ), Joomla 1.0.x seems easer. I try but it's still show a variable constant not a string. Hope someone can help me or I will try to find from Joomla forums. See attached image file:

Edit:
OK, I found this tutorial: viewtopic.php?f=478&t=233628

Congrats for the great plugin!

Congratulations with good work,
My question could be found a bit odd, anyway : i need the link to the actual article (the one which is open already) to be listed in Related Items, if i can do it with this plug-in please tell me how, (or alternatively with native J1.5 Related Items module).
Thank you.

I installed the 2.0.5 version of the plugin on Joomla 1.5.3. As I have enabled the show page update function, the date/time when the article was last updated is displayed after Extra News plugin. How can I move the "last updated" notification above the plugin?

Moreover, I am using a UTF-8 encoded language file. Everything is displayed correctly apart from the first label, LBL_NEWERNAME, which is displayed as "LBL_NEWERNAME" instead of the translated text. I replaced the translation with the english text, to no effect. "LBL_NEWERNAME" was replaced by the translation only when the language file was encoded as ANSI. But in that case, the translated text appears as ?????????. Is there any fix for that?

As default, the english language (en-GB) file always exists. You can find the language files en-GB.plg_content_extranews.ini in the plugin, in the i18n folder in the download zip file. So It will show English.

If you are using the different language (look into language Joomla folder), please let me know.

Even with no language file in our language folder, the plugin is displayed in English. The issue is with UTF-8 files in general. Do try to convert the english language file in UTF8 and see that the first label, LBL_NEWERNAME, is always displayed as variable name and not as translated text. For some reason, the script does not like UTF-8 files and leaves the first translation untranslated..

Hi,

Viet, is this module released? I'm a a little bit confused with all this talk :/

Btw, I'm using your plugin. It's great, but module would be even more useful, to put it on the right.

Thank you for your great work!

Hi viet4777!

I thank you for this great piece of work. I would also be happy if you will offer it as a module.

Attached is the german translation.

Hello,

The plugin works great, but some times, the DHTML tool tip is not displayed, because a page break exists in the text. I will try to solve that.
I have include the DUTCH language for you as well.

Best regards,

Peter vd Hulst

Hi, I have added italian language to the plugin package (please find it attached if you want toadd it as well) , but for some reason it doesn't show my language (which is set as default).
Do you know why?
it would be great if it could work with joomfish, did any of you already try it with Joomfish 2RC1?
thanks
