How to add new pages?

I have implemented a template into joomla. How to add new pages? Also just tell me how to create dropdown menus?

You don't ADD NEW PAGES, you create menu link items that link to articles that are either uncategorized or assigned to Sections/Categories. You must create sections, then categories within the sections. Create a menu link item, select what type, then link to the article or whatever type it is.

For drop down menus, you simply create a menu link item that has a "parent" of the menu link item you want it to be under.

P.S. I strongly, strongly suggest you read the "Absolute Beginner's Guide to Joomla!" the link to which is above in the pink area. Also, at the top of the page, click on "Documentation" and read everything in that wiki. Then, using the default J! installation, look to the left and look at the example pages and the menu links below it to see what the various blog, list, etc pages look like.

I have created a Link Item. But I can't figure out how to assign it to a section and category. Could you help me out on this one?

That's done during the initial link item setup, or you open it and "Change Type" using the button near the top.

You have the choice of:

Section List
Section Blog
Category List
Category Blog
Article Layout

Depending upon which you want, change the type to that particular one.

See the default Joomla install, Example Pages link at the bottom left, then follow the links to get a visual view of what each layout looks like.

hey guys, this is kind of related, im fine with articles as muenu items etc but how do I add extra articles to the new pages? i.e. have other pages setup like the front page with several different articles on the same page?
