Hello,
Hello i have Joomla 1.5.6 corrrectly installed localy, but once i move it to my online server the modules's titles dissapear, it is very weird, it is the only thing wrong, and the space for the titles is there, i have checked with firebug and it seems that the required tags are there, i it just the the title text is not there.
At the backend everything seems ok, the titles are there and all modules have the property to show title set as "yes".

I didn't do nothing weird, just copied the files to my online server, exported the database from my local server and imported it on the online server, and also changed the paths at the configuration.php file.

http://dev2.equipo24.com/e24marketing/

Here you have some details of the enviroment:
PHP Version: 5.0.4
Web Server: Apache 2.0 with mod_rewrite on
OS: Linux
Joomla Version: 1.5.6
Also I am using a YooTheme template

Any idea?

The latest version is 5.2.6 and should be the ideal.

Hi,

I'm using PHP 5.2.6 on my localhost, my titles are also not displayed for the modules I have.

Online my hosting service use version 5.1.1, no titles also and the following notice appears :
"Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in (...)\modules\mod_login\helper.php on line 25".

Any help, thanks.

Same problem here on a 1.5.6 site with PHP 5.2. Going nuts trying to figure out why the titles aren't showing. Help would be more than appreciated. :)

I have upgraded my php to 5.1.6 and the same happens
I am using Shuffle template from yooTheme

I have activated the php to show all errors and this is the warning i am having on all positions:

Warning: preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Compilation failed: support for \P, \p, and \X has not been compiled at offset 9

I have googled a bit about that and found this link http://de3.php.net/manual/de/reference. ... .php#75339 that says that may be i need to upgrade the PCRE.

Any idea before try to upgrade the PCRE?

Hi,

I'm using my own template. I guess it could be a bug, because using the same template on J1.5.4 I got my titles displayed and no notice.

Bye,

Does the template you are using have a style hard coded? For example if you have
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="user1" style="none" /> you won't get titles.

http://docs.joomla.org/What_is_module_chrome%3F

http://docs.joomla.org/Core_module_chrome_CSS

Quote:
Chrome Type

* None

This is the default if no style attribute is added to the <jdoc:include /> statement.
No additional CSS styling is added.
Module title is NOT included in the output, regardless of enabled status.

Hey, the problem on our site was a template issue.

<jdoc:include type="modules" name="left" style="xhtml" />

This module code above was missing the style="xhtml". We added that in and the titles magically appeared :) Hope that helps someone else too.

Where can I find how to change xhtml style? When I turn it on, I see the module titles, but I also see the gray bottom line, which I'd like to be removed, or at least create similar style without bottom line.
Thank you.

Thanks mcsmom to solve Heilong and directtech's issue.
Non-official Template Issue
To use style other than "none" to display module title
Code:
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="user1" style="xhtml" />

Thanks humvee to solve aartiles's issue

Hello,
I am using YOOTheme template Shuffle - Joomla 1.5 - and am recieving an error every time I try and use a module...

Error: Warning: Compilation failed: PCRE does not support \L, \l, \N, \P, \p, \U, \u, or \X at offset 3 in...

Do I need to upgrade my PCRE and PHP?

http://66.124.51.202:81/joomla15/index.php

Also, for some reason I can not get a menu to display on this template.. not even the HOME button. Thanks again.

It seems that if your template DOCTYPE is a XHTML type you must expressly set the module style to xhtml in order to match the layout output.
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">

Code:
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="left" style="xhtml" />

Then the module's title should print out on screen.
