Joomla_1_5_0_ja-JP_Stableをインストールして、SEOの設定に Search Engine Friendly URL を ON にすると、日本語の検索結果は文字化けしてしまいました。例えば、「インターネット接続」を入力し検索してみたところ、FireFoxのブラウザでは次のような化けた文字に変わり、検索結果が表示されません。（英文字なら問題なく検索できます。）

�_��_��_��_��__�__�__接�_

.htaccessファイルに下記3行を追加しても改善されません。

php_value mbstring.http_input auto
php_value mbstring.http_output UTF-8
php_value mbstring.internal_encoding UTF-8

しかし、Search Engine Friendly URL を OFF にすれば、日本語検索時の文字化けが発生しません。
SEF URL は日本語の検索に対応していないのでしょうか。
何か対処方法はないでしょうか。

自己レスです。

PC環境上XAMPPでWindowsサーバを作り、Joomla1.5.6をインストールしてみたところ、SEFをONにしても検索時の文字化けはしませんでした。

しかし、Linux環境のJoomlaを1.5.6に上げても、相変わらず文字化けしています。
この場合、どの辺を調べたらよいかを悩んでいるところです。
