Hey Everybody,

I've been working on a Joomla based website of Free Classified Ads for Used Cars in Canada.
The main targeted users are private sellers that would like to post and sell their car online,
but car dealers should find this website useful as well.

Before I go public with this website, I would like to test it in every way possible.
The site is on the testing stage right now, I just want to make sure everything is working correctly.

CheckMyRide.ca - Used Cars in Canada - Free Car Ads

I'd appreciate it if you guys could have a look at the site, and maybe try some things out..
For example, post an ad, it doesn't have to be real.
Any comments / feedback / questions will be appreciated.

So Please, let me know what you think...
Thanks

P.S.
I know the site's URL is in the title, but it's the actual name of the website.

Hey,

What do you exactly mean by enhancing a car?

Thanks,

I could enter to your website only on second time. Maybe dns problems?
And i think you'd better change top of design and enter some pics with autos

Hello, thank you for your feedback.

I am not sure as for why the first time wasn't successful, but it seems to be OK now.
and I will definitely have some work to do in terms of design and making it more like a car selling website.

Thanks again,

Very good Ads management system.

Is it a custom made ads module or did you use a known module ?

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback.

I am using both, the original Jommla banner management and AdSense Module (ClickSafe - Special Edition) that can be found here -

Thanks,

Can anyone please comment on the functionality of the site?

Are there any improvements that can be made to the process of posting a car?

Thanks,

Site is impressive, seems to function well. Are you using the hotornot2 component ? I need something to do exactly that for a site I wish to set up (not cars, so no competition!). I thought after reading some reviews that this component didn't work with the latest Joomla?

Is it something fairly easy to integrate or best to get the pro's to set up ?

Any pointers you have for a newbie would be appreciated

thanks

Hello, and thanks for the feedback.
I am using Hotornot2 with Joomla 1.0.13, so it's not the latest.

With Joomla 1.0, integration of the free version is very easy,
I do not think that the Pro edition is required.

Hoped it answered your question.

Thanks,

Hi

Your site looks great. Nice dark template and Promo/animation video. You would have made a real video instead of a flash or 3D animation because it looks a little bit like a game video while your site is a professional one and it's about advertising and selling cars rather than playing car games.

Also I suggest you optimize your URLs for a better SEO result. There are a lot of SEF component for joomla.

About your main component, it's nice choice. Hope that Hotornot2 can be adapted to anything. It is a good script but it's seems that it's for J1.0 only. I've searched the internet but I couldn't find the official Hotornot2 site. It seems that this component has been discontinued. Can you post the link to Hotornot2 Dev site here?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hi there,

You have a great looking web site. I am sure it will be helpful for Canadians.

I would suggest adding advise on how to buy used cars and what to look for.

Think about it this way, you have jewlery web sites that have buying guides, even buying guide for men - and we all know that cars are far more of an investment and far more complex.

Have a look at my blog, perhaps it would give you some ideas.

Good luck!

Bernard
