Hi,

I have a question...

I´m using Joomla! 1.0.5 Stable and I´m having trouble with 404´s in combination with SEO / SEF.
As I understand it correctly there are 2 known bugs: 1 resulting in an access problem and 1 having multiple url´s to the same item.

My problem is the following thing:

When you request a site you go to an url like this: http://host/dir/
The website will then load http://host/dir/index.php

If SEO is enabled the page will be loaded but it will return an 404. (This is found in the logfile)
If you go to the page with http://host/dir/component/option,com_fr ... /Itemid,1/ then the page is loaded fine.

The problem with this offcourse is that the browser also notices the 404, and some browsers will the redirect you to a custom page.

This is even without the .htaccess, so there can´t be anything wrong there I would think. ( I know, all the other links won´t work... But for requesting the index.php, it doesn´t matter.)

Turning SEO off, and the 404 is gone.

Anyone who also noticed this problem?

I also noticed a problem with the login, it says in the source:
which offcourse went wrong... (404 I guess)

For the record... I'm using:
- Joomla! 1.0.5 Stable
- Apache/1.3.34
- The internal SEO function of joomla is used.

Thanks for any info posible...

Ok, looks like this... I think.... I´m off to bed now, try it tomorrow... Maybe it could be added to the known problems...

Nope that's not it... I had the .htaccess set... And it's loading the page... However... the wrong headers are send... Which causes the 404. And even without the .htaccess... It should still be able to load the index!

Try changing your sef.php to this one modified by emir, you will find this file in the includes Directory. There is a long thread about this in the useability or security forum I cant remeber which one.

I'm having the same problem in 1.0.7 installed in a subdomain. I have also posted a thread here:

http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic ... 73976.html

I'm wondering if the bug still persists. THanks much.
