How To Embed Swf Files In Joomla ?

Post by ozzy1000 » Wed Jan 21, 2009 5:25 pm

I am trying to embed an helloworl.swf file into the front and other pages in joomla1.5.

I tried doing it in many different ways but its not working for me. Read few comments from others
http://www.astahost.com/Embed-Swf-Files ... 10713.html but no luck.

I tried going to Add New Content. Then, in the WYSIWYG editor, there is a Flash button (represented by te Flash .swf file icon) but when i save it, it saves any text but not the required code. Example.

Code: Select all

<script type="text/javascript">swfobject.embedSWF("http://www.[youtube].com/f/slideshow-home.swf", "flashcontent", "450", "360", "9.0.0", "t");</script>
As you can see on the screenshot, at first it looks like its going to work but after saving it, its gone!!!!!!

Tried doing this too but no luck:

Code: Select all

<!-- START www.raymeo.com -->
<embed src="http://www.[youtube].com/f/slideshow-giving.swf" width="320" height="240" quality="low" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed><br><a href="http://www.raymeo.com">www.raymeo.com</a>
<!-- END www.raymeo.com -->
but after saving it, the only thing if saves is the url: <a href="http://www.raymeo.com">www.raymeo.com</a>

I also tried turning off the WYSIWYG editor but same story. Does not save code. :(

FYI. I also enabled the "Enable Flash Uploader" radio button.

Please help. Thank you!

Sorry, didn't read your whole post. But embed tags gets filtered out per default in Joomla. Enter the article parameters an disable filtering for administrators.

I always use JCE editor with the media manager. It's easy as 1 click to embed Flash content, and it works like a charm.

Awesome!

I wasn't sure how to do it but I found this code which I hope helps others:

Code: Select all

1. Navigate to Content -> Article Manager.
2. Press the Parameters icon in the toolbar to show the Articles - Global Configuration screen.
3. Scroll down to Filtering Options, highlight all Filter groups except Super Administrator, and select Filter type of Blacklist (Default), as shown in the screenshot below.

Very easy.
1)You can install plugin mod (allvideoload) from contral panel.
Type scrip on artical {swf}filename{/swf} that o.K. You must made directory videos in images/stories/videos/xxx.Swf

2)if you don't like install pulgin mod. You can try select embed with player in embed engine on
http://jj.raymeo.net/component/content/ ... ngine.html

I first time try to embled swf file in landing page is smooth playback. I select embed with player . Result is : hkwharf.[URL banned].com

Please copy the following try again.

Code: Select all

<!-- START www.raymeo.net -->
<embed src="http://jj.raymeo.net/mj.swf" width="320" height="240" quality="low" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed><br><a href="http://jj.raymeo.net">jj.raymeo.net</a>
<!-- END www.raymeo.net -->

I'm having the same issue. I had success with the extension, Simple flash video player. That works great for animations and flv files.

However, I have some swf files that are games created by my students. they don't play continuously like videos. There are various stop actions where the user must make decisions. When I try adding them to my site with the simple video player, they look fine, However, when you push Play, it plays the whole game all the way through, ignoring the Stop actions in the swf. Once it's done that, you can play the game normally, but it seems there should be a better way.

You can see what I mean here: http://www.allisonwebcreations.com/resu ... Itemid=157
Try playing one of the games.

I'm thinking I should use a different approach for these. I have been reading these posts and trying to figure out where there is a flash swf button in the editor. I can't find any. I started a new article-- I use the JCE editor -- where am I looking?

Thank you. I see they work well

I got the allvideo plugin and tried {swf}craig_choices.swf{/swf} but it doesn't seem to work. Take a look:

http://www.allisonwebcreations.com/resu ... Itemid=157

It looks like it loads the player, but something is wrong. I tried fiddling with the parameters in the plugin, but didn't have success.

Ah, never mind. I realize I am not supposed to add the extension to the file name
