Hello,
I have a co-located Windows 2003 Server SP2 with IIS.
Installed PHP5.2.6 no problems
Installed MySQL v5.1.11 and it is running.
Installed Joomla 1.5.4 on my website and it startes the Pre-Install check but says
MySQL support NO

I am not sure what I need to do to get Joomla to talk with MySQL ?
Please help,
Thanks,
Kent

ok, I have fixed this problem and now am able to continue on with the install.

The fix is to add PHP to the windows path.

Go to control panel and then system, then Advanced tab.
Go to the Environment Variables and under system variables
edit the PATH and add
;C:\PHP5

Save and reboot the server.
Hope this helps someone else,
Thanks,
Kent

Hi Kent,

THANKS! I was searching for this solution, as i already have PHPNuke, Psychostats and Wordpress running fine on my server with MySQL, so the module HAS to be working fine. However, Jooma is the only one that requires the system-path to have PHP in it. Apparently, nobody knows this, except you! :)

THANKS AGAIN! :D

Tried this - didn't work. Should there be a semicolon before the C:\php5 ?

Hi,

I had the same problem and I fixed it...
what you ahve to do is while installing PHP you would see options to install some extensions, in those extensions you have to select MySql...(by default it is marked as cross)....remove the cross and install pHP that will solve your problem...

bye,
Arvind

I am also having the same issue with the per-installation check. I tried changing the extension path as mentioned above and after a reboot no change.

PHP 5.3.8 standard installation does not have MySQL crossed out at default, it is selected as "will be installed" so also did not fix the problem for me.

Any other reasons why I would get no MySQL support on the per-installation check?
