I think you can do without the Freelance category because
- even a freelancer specializes in one of the other categories
- there is a field for the number of employees (although not visible at this point)

Here is an idea to reshuffle the current categories, adding a new Implement category.

Advice
- Consulting
- SEO Specialists
- Legal Assistance
- Project Management

Site creation
- Implement
- Components, Modules & Plugins
- Language Packs
- Templates

Educate
- News & Informational
- Designer & Developer Tutorials
- User & Administrator Tutorials
- Training

Support
- Hosting
- Online Helpdesk

Educate
- News & Informational

- User & Administrator Tutorials
- Training
Makes sense - training probably belongs in the Educate category

I like the existing category since it's having a good and clear overview. Very nice job!
More categories will be perhaps more precise, but will also have a nagative side... meaning some companies with a wide range of products and services will have then to submit to several categories, which in the end will puzzle more the viewers.

I think that, from the person searching the resources view, it is best to keep the number of categories minimal.

Also, since we can have only one entry, breaking out categories to the degree that some are listed here would be a problem. It was hard enough to pick from the ones currently listed!

Are there any plans to create new category like "Site builders", "Web design and development" or similar - we basically offer clients to build a complete site for them on Joomla basis - this includes information arhitecture, webdesign, web building and - if necessary - custom programming. I looked at resource directory but this does not seem to fit anywhere?

I've seen that, but consulting is giving advice / lead someone, so they can do it themselves, which is something quite different from doing it for them.
