am I the only one that using the "categories" or "both" modes is getting a completely expanded list of categories with all their articles? I am using the "Combine Category and Article Lists" option, as it states that it should only list the articles of the current category, and not the ones of the others. is that correct?

also, in the expanded mode, I am not seeing the plus and minus icons at all, so all the tree is expanded by default, so I guess this may be somehow related with the previous error. any ideas?

i have the same problem in here

i need the articles to be listed only when i click on the category link, i have them all expanded

and that expandable option is not working

any1 got this figured out?

Use the magic of css...

Code:
.articles li.articles ul {
  /*hide the subnavs*/
  display: none;
}

I have set it up on http://www.inmotionasia.com/adventure-tours/road-cycling.html

I used ArtCats to list article items on the left column to serve as a "menu" and it worked GREAT. However, when I add more modules of different categories to the right column to serve as links to the most recent 4 articles under each selected category, it was acting wired. It was displaying SAME articles under different categories. Any advice?

Hello,

ArtCats is definitely what I need for my website... but I can't make it work ! Just installed it, set up all the parameters and it crashes every single page where I asked for it to be displayed. I have the following error message :

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/mywebsite/public_html/modules/mod_artcats/tmpl/.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php52/pear') in /home/mywebsite/public_html/modules/mod_artcats/mod_artcats.php on line 39

(I hope I am posting in the right forum, if not I'm very sorry. I'm quite a newbie... My website is running under Joomla 1.5.11).

Thanks in advance !

Hi

When I click on a link in expanded menu link option, in some cases it has a 2 column layout with the showing of articles below the main, like intro and links, how can you change the layout options, it only says blog style at the bottom,

also when using this link the icons of the articles - like pdf email, are showing but I have turned this off in article options.

thanks for the work,

Rusty

Hello.

My english is very badly, but i will try the best i can.

I see you write this about Superfish menu module, to Joomla. But, how do i connect all my categories inc. articles to menu structure?

I have search alot, but i can't find something - there is possible to use with Superfish menu.

I searching for a module, there can use categories, to make menu structure, with Articles in submenus.

Do you understand?:)

Is it possible to have ArtCats show the first article in a category as a default.

say i had

section1
category1
article1
article2
category2
article1
article2

So if i clicked on the link to category1 I would automatically see article1.

anyway, I was just testing out the ArtCats and everything seems to be working as module says. But I am not seeing the module on any of the article titles page.

For example: I have a category called Games and when you go to that category you can see the ArtCat module to the right with all of the articles listed. All is good up to this point.

If I click on a title that's listed in the module, it'll take me to that page, but the ArtCat module isn't on that page.

Has anyone solved this issue yet? I'm seeing the same thing.

Okay, for me the plot thickens.

The module will show up on some pages and not others, even when I have the settings all the same (except for the menu assignments).

See for yourself:

Works here: http://[spam]/aOp2

Doesn't work here: http://[spam]/7dOt

These links will only work during normal business hours EST.

I have artcats 2.0.4 running and I'm trying to get things right.
I now run into this problem:

I've made a static categories module. It looks fine, but when I click on a category it opens an article that has nothing to do with the category.

Hi all,

ArtCats module didn't show up on my frontpage either.
The solution is to set Automatic Mode to off and it works!

HI,
I'm using ArtCats on my website, but I have a little trouble - how to do a pagination in the module?
For example, after 15 titles articles the other articles appear on the next page? Thanx.

I am using this excellent module on my website as a menu that will automatically update as new articles are added. Trouble is, it only seems to work for the first 99 articles. It works for article ID's 1 to 99 and not above. Has anyone got it working for more than 100 articles?
I'm using Joomla 1.5.20. Website is here http://www.mountainbikeroutes.co.za
