I'm getting all of my emails returned to me that joomla sends via the PHP Mail Function.

The email states this error:

Code:
The original message was received at Mon, 6 Oct 2008 05:54:08 -0700
from localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]

   ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<CUSTOMERS EMAIL ADDRESS>
    (reason: 553 sorry, your mail was administratively denied. (#5.7.1))

   ----- Transcript of session follows -----
... while talking to relay-hosting.secureserver.net:
>>> MAIL From:<MY EMAIL ADDRESS>
<<< 553 sorry, your mail was administratively denied. (#5.7.1)
501 5.6.0 Data format error

I'm using GoDaddy as my host.

I need to get this fixed ASAP! This is an e-commerce website and rely on it for revenue in the winter.

Please help me get this fix.

Thanks.

Hi,

you could try to change your mail settings to SMTP server and use the SMTP server,SMTP authentication, SMTP Username and SMTP password. If you dont't know those information, you will get those information from your hosting provider.

I can't GoDaddy wants you to pay extra for smtp email.

I just need to get the PHP Mail Function working. It was working fine but then a few weeks ago I'm getting emails returned.

Well, is this just to a certain address or to all addresses.

the server relay-hosting.secureserver.net: said that it will not send out your email. Is your FROM email address corresponding with your webhosting account?

I am having the same issue, only with Acajoom though. Works fine for Letterman, RSForms email notifications...

This error is all of the sudden, not sure if is is Joomla config J1.xx, GoDaddy my hosting account or Acajoom.

Which mail method do you use? PHPMail, SMTP, sendmail?

Maybe Acajoom has a separate configuration for this?

ok, the problem is that your host doesn't allow to relay email messages which are from your yahoo.com email address, you will need to use an email address which is send from an email address which is within your domain (e.g. info@your-domain.com)

Olaf,

Does it have to be a LIVE or REAL email from my hosting account?

For example my domain is www.myccvc.com and the email would be admin@myccvc.com, BUT this email address does not really exist. Alternatively do I need to setup a real, active email address on my hosting account?

Thank you for much for taking the time to try to help me.

Mike

That depends on your hosting providers configuration, but I am guessing that you don't need a real email address, although I would encourage you to have a real email address in place, as otherwise you nobody will be able to reply.

Please contact your hosting provider to find out your real email.

However your address where the mail is coming from is your hotmail address.

ah, indeed..

i went in long ago and changed it so that it would come from the @wickedwindmedia.con email. i did this in the config folder. none of the accountants any longer utilize that hotmail acct. although i might have used it in setup?

i looked @ config.php and it says mail should come from the wickedwindmedia.com email...
