Hi,

Can someone please tell me the status of my domain name request for joomlagrove.com?

I submitted the OSM domain name request form on approximately January 5, 2010. After not receiving any response, on March 4, 2010 I filled out an OSM feedback form asking for an update on my domain name request. I haven't gotten any response to that either.

Thanks,

paul

Thanks mandville for checking on this. I am glad to know at least that the record exists.

It's been roughly 2 1/2 months since my submission, but I don't know if that represents a normal backlog or not. Do you or anyone else have any suggestions for what I should do next?

Thanks again,

paul

Hey Paul,

I sent you an email on Dec. 4th regarding your submission on Dec. 1st, but had not received an email back with an answer.

I was waiting for you to supply a legitimate email address. You are not registering this domain on behalf of community.joomla.org, and that is the address that you used to register the domain. As far as my understanding is from your application, this is a personal site of yours, that will be commercial in nature, not a community.joomla.org initiative.

I have temporarily approved your domain name use. Please supply an appropriate email address that is reflective of the actual contact for the domain by updating your profile.

As far as all of my email records go, I have no trademark contact form submission from you. I am not sure where the disconnect has happened, but hopefully now you can move forward with your project.

Great, thanks for your help with this Jenny!

I'm sorry I wasn't aware that using my @community.joomla.org email address in the domain name request was a problem. I don't recall receiving an email about that back in December, but it's possible I inadvertently deleted it.

I have replied to your email that I received today with my non-joomla.org email address.

Thanks again,

paul

Well the reason why it is a problem to use an official J email address is that if you for whatever reason are no longer using that address there is no way for the T&L system to know what email address to contact you at.

It would make logical sense, that you would be using your professional/commercial contact email address for a professional/commercial website.

Also Paul, could you please log in to OSM and update your contact details. That will update your email address in the system.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I wasn't aware that I had an account on the OSM site so I just now created a new account. I didn't use my @community.joomla.org email address for the new account. I hope I don't now have 2 OSM accounts (including a previous one with an improper email address).
