Let's have a discussion about different ideas on how to promote the JCM which will launch on July 1. This discussion is for brainstorming so that means there is no such thing as a bad idea!

Here are some ideas which have come from the JCM team members. What other ideas do you have?

Big ideas
  • Do you know of media outlets, news or blog websites, etc., that you think would be good fits to write a story about the JCM? Better yet, do you have any personal contacts there that you can either approach about doing a JCM, or invite them to contact us?
  • Make podcast interview appearances
  • Try to get an announcement at people.joomla.org
  • Try to get an announcement on joomla.org
  • Add a blog post on commmunity.joomla.org
  • Add a Magazine link on community.joomla.org
  • Create a quarterly "Best of JCM" PDF edition
  • Cross promotions with 3PDs who provide GPL extensions

Small but simple and powerful ideas
  • Add a link to the JCM in your sig
  • Update your status on this site when the JCM launches
  • Send tweets to all your friends
  • Look for appropriate opportunities to add blog comments on other websites with links to relevant JCM articles
