Hello, is it legal to rebrand joomla? I want to change the admin panel and some icons and remove all joomla stuff. I dont want extra money for it. I want to create an easier envirement for their specifick needs and it looks more professional if i make look like i made it, lol. Or if i say its "based" on joomla will that be fine?

Sorry, i dont understand the technical English in the license

Yes, the GPL allows you to change anything you want except the license and copyright information.

If you distribute it to others, you should use the GPL, just like Joomla!. But, you do not required to distribute it.

Yes if you distribute you must give licensees he same rights you were given when you got a license for Joomla!.

I'm really not sure what you are talking about at this point. Now you mean you want to sell a admin template?

No, i want to give customers a cms solution but with an easier navigation. So in the backpanel would only be buttons and no menus. Only links to a specifick module or just the articlemanager. I only add modules they want. So it stays simple. If they want the full power, thats fine too. But i created a template to achieve this. But i dont want them to redistribute it, along with the custom buttoms. I dont want to sell the template, i only wanna offer a service. With on top of adminpage my logo and "mycms" and the footer powered by joomla, or whatever it says.

You can make an administrator template and make it look however you want. Are you talking about something only hosted on your server?

If you are giving it to your customers as part of your work for them you need to make the PHP parts of your template GPL.

You have to leave the Joomla! copyright and licensing information in your source files other than that you can change the name.
