Problem with XStandard Lite 2.0
Hello,
I am newbie on joomla 1.5
I was following instruction on Joomla for Dummies.
I attempted to change WYSIWYG Editor from TinyMCE to XStandard Lite 2.0 by clicking enable XStandardLite 2/disable TinyMCE under Plugin Manager.
By enabled XStandard Lite 2.0, when I go to article editing via article manager, the page was completely blank, I used latest firefox and IE8. Both were blank. However, when I click back to TinyMCE, it works perfectly well.
Is there any problem with XStandard Lite 2.0?
Thanks kindly in advance
M

Re enable the editor in the plugin manager.
Then goto Global Configuration and select the "default WYSIWIG editor" in the site settings and select the editor you wish to use in the drop down box, this case the XStandard Lite, then apply. Should work now.
If you get any other editors, this is where you can select them.

Was there any errors when you hit "Apply"? Such as a file could not be written?
Outside of that, there should be no reason to disable an editor, just change the default one in Global Configuration drop down box.

.
The XStandard Lite 2.0 editor must be installed on your system.
The Joomla editor is simply an interface for this external editor.
Go to the XStandard website and download and install:

Re: Problem with XStandard Lite 2.0
ah, i was under the impression that XStandard Lite 2.0 plugin in Joomla! was independent ... however the web browser plugin is actually dependent on the user's installed components on their local computer system.
good info, thanks for clearing this up! i thought i made a mistake as well :-)

Re: Problem with XStandard Lite 2.0
The following steps should solve the problem
1) Install the XStandard Lite 2.0 on your desktop using the link given by kenmcd i.e
http://www.xstandard.com/en/downloads/?product=lite
2) Follow the rest of the steps from this link
http://joomla.boastworthy.com/how-to/22 ... oomla.html
(Sorry I didn't want to copy the content )
Follow the above steps And your XStandardLite will not show the blank screen anymore
