What is/are the extention(s) you've tried to install so far? For example, which extension gave you the error message noted above?

Am I the only one with this problem? Or has anybody else seen this, either in the 1.5.20 release or previous, I'm kinda stuck, and need to update some components and plugins, and I'm not able to, I don't want to roll back to the 1.5.18 release, because of the security fixes in the 1.5.19 and 1.5.20 releases!

I can't solve your problem, but I can tell you what I would do if it were me:

I always take a backup before I upgrade; hopefully you've done that. If you have, restore your backup (i.e. rollback to the previous version). Now try to install whatever extension you were trying. Just try one.

Assuming that worked, take another backup.

THEN, and only then, do the .18 to .20 upgrade again. Make sure you're using the correct upgrade package and that you have a good strong Internet connection. I've seen lots of problems fixed just by redoing the obvious (sometimes files get corrupted during the download/upload process... it has happened to me a number of times and reinstalling -- just like rebooting a computer -- seems to solve a lot of little mystery problems).

Anyway, that's what I would do. If you haven't tried it, I would suggest it. :) Good luck!

P.S. Just found this... might be worth trying: viewtopic.php?p=1339630

Hi all,

I still have a problem, and I do not want to roll back to 1.5.18, because of the security fixes that came with 1.5.19 and 1.5.20.
I still get this error:

* JFolder::files: Path does not point to a valid folder or the folder has been deleted.
* JFolder::folder: Path does not point to a valid folder or the folder has been deleted.
* JFolder::files: Path does not point to a valid folder or the folder has been deleted.

Well, the 'rule of thumb' is whenever you've made a change that breaks something, undo the change and start over, proceeding differently the second time, step by step, to see if you get a different result.

If you're unwilling to undo the change you made, then I don't have any other suggestions. Sorry! maybe someone else here on the forum can help you.

Yeah, I know, and I can do it, but maybe somebody knows what these error messages means... what to fix etc...
