If you look at my homepage, http://www.thedancenter.net/joomla1 the Polls text size is larger than the normal text. I have looked everywhere in the CSS and connot find how I can correct this. I asume that it is a default somewhere.

A nudge in the right direction would be appreciated...

If you get Firefox with the Firebug extension, it'll tell you the line number and filename(s) of the css file that is controlling those renderings so that you can easily fix it. See:
