The Joomla Bug Squad group was wondering if it's possible to set up a group calendar module where we can display upcoming events and other schedule activities?

could the "events" thing not be used for that?

If we can't get a calendar, that might work if any group that wants to use it can get added as a category. Then we could just add a link to the event category page for our group from the group page.

Do you know if the Events has any kind of calendar view, just so people can quickly see what is going on in a certain month?

Thanks for pointing out the Events. I missed that.

I'm not sure that it could. We're looking for something that can be used to schedule one time and recurring events, some weekly if not multiple times a week. I'm not that you'd want us listing the same thing recurring event over and over. A calendar view would be optimal for what we need. Any thoughts?

Sandra and the JUG team are currently working on an events system that will also tie in with JomSocial groups. I'm certain that if you want to contact her she'll be happy to let the Bug Squad jump in the fun as well. I believe the idea is to create a system that all teams can use to promote dates of events, but not 100% certain of the details.
