Here are some screenshots of JCE 1.0.0 for those that are interested. Should be released on Thursday (2nd March).

First, the Admin Component:

1) Plugin Manager - showing some commands (bold, italic, underline etc.). All of these, like all other plugins, can be set to an access level and/or published/unpublished.

2)Plugin Manager - showing some of the plugins. Those that have links are editable, ie: they have parameters that cen be changed.

3)The Plugin Manager installation section. Plugins are installed like mambots, but using the JCE Plugin installer.

4)The Layout Manager - Drag and drop sorting of JCE buttons within rows and between them.

Here are some shots of the plugins:

1)The Image Manager is 'thumb' view

2)The Image Manager in 'list' view

3)The Image Manager showing multiple file selection

4)The File Manager interface

Some more plugins:

1)The Media Manager - note the extra information for the file

2)Advanced Link - check out the new 'Favourites' feature

3)Advanced Link - advanced options

4)And here is the Language Manager for the Admin Component, which I couldn't fit in the first post. Language packs can be installed and published/unpublished and can pretty much take care of translations for everything, except plugin parameters in XML files.

:D

Due to the Joomla 1.0.8 / mosCE mess I don't have the luxury of running this through a beta testing session, so I just have to release it and hope for the best. It should be okay, and with everyones help we can sort any potential problems out quickly.

No, no spell checker yet.

There was going to be one, but it's a bit difficult to implement, especially since this one is/was going to have the option of using PSpell or a MySQL wordlist.

The modular nature of JCE allows us to bolt things on afterwards. There will be a SpellChecker plugin and Component released in the near future.

Wow, very promising screenshots !

mosCE has been nr.1 on my personal top 2 for long, but that is going to change now I guess.
Really looking forward to this release of the new nr. 1  ;)

Hello!

If I would install the new JoomlaCE Editor next week, will the popup image problem be solved????

Because I do not know what to do with the much broken popuplinks on my homepage (after joomla 1.0.8 upgrade)

But I think you are going to program the best WYSIWYG editor!!!!

That is amazing! I hope march first gets deleted too! This will hopefully help those of us that don't have much of a clue make much better looking sites (or at least make the functional)!

Thanks for all the hard work!
Matt

Ryan,

Is somebody already busy with translating this beauty into dutch? If not, i'd be happy to try to finally contribute to the Joomlacommuty building a translation (that is if i'm capable of doing it, i can handle the translations of most components etc. but i'm not sure if this is working the same way?)

Just give me a yell, i'll be happy to help

Does this great thing got any browser compatibility issue?
I tried mosCE before but it doesn't make me amazed.
Sometimes, I had to scratch my head before getting
something done nicely.

I tried to open mosCE in three different browser (IE, Firefox and Opera),
but not all of them show-up flawlessly, so with the toolbars which should be
in somewhere were missing.

This is related to mosCE, but totally unrelated to JCE, but I have to say it:

Eike Hoffman posted a hack to the tinyMCE core of mosCE that is really, REALLY, great. I can't use mosCE without it anymore actually. Basically this hack will speed up your image managing at least 10 times...

Highly recommended.

first of all - i love to use mosCE - it's really the best editor i've ever tried.

but one question: if i upgrade from mosCE to JCE - will this break something (Especially Filetype Icons,.....) in existing news,.....

thanks!
