MB Language is Default

Post by ollywood » Tue Oct 19, 2010 4:25 pm

Hi

I am installing a fresh copy of Joomla and I have uploaded 1.5.21 onto the web sever. When going to the /installation directory and choosing English as the language, the pre-installation check for Joomla has one error:

MB Language is Default:
No PHP mbstring language is not set to neutral. This can be set locally by entering php_value mbstring.language neutral in your .htaccess file.

I have looked at other threads of how to do this but they didnt help. Could I just click next and carry on and ignore it or is this not advised? If not, how can I make is state yes. I have attached a screenshot also.

Thanks in advance.

Sadly no luck as I am only at the pre-joomla installation phase and haven't gone past the stage described as it has a No value which it recommends sorting before moving forward.

You can ask your host to fix it or you can try creating an .htaccess file in your joomla root directory and adding this line to it:

Code: Select all

php_value mbstring.language neutral
