Its located within the installation folder. You can also view it online in the SVN view here:

I'm not sure I understand this:

"Future Release Predictions

At this time, we expect to release version 1.6.0 on 11 January 2011. This assumes we do not encounter any major unanticipated issues that we are unable to resolve before that time. The ability to deliver at these times is directly proportional to the amount of volunteer help the project receives."

Does this mean a beta or production version?

That would be production.

Wholly!

I've procrastinated for so long and have been so busy...that I never got a chance to go 1.5...did for all my clients of course but my own site is a dinosaur disaster from 2004 or so...

I'll repopulate the site by hand, do you recommend I go 1.5 or 1.6 on the new site straight from 1.0?

If everything goes well and it DOES get released on Jan 11, how long before extensions and components follow? 6 months or so?

Thanks

I've been building sample sites and there are a bunch of extensions that you can already use and a bunch more that have promised to be ready for the release.

Well done guys, thank you for all your efforts. I have been away from Joomla for a while, sounds like time to dive back in :)

Yes, great news. It's been a while coming but worth the wait. Best of luck for the release, and thanks for all the work.
