I'm sorry if this question has already been answered in another thread, but I couldn't find an answer that helped with my particular issue.

I've installed Joomla! 1.5 on my GoDaddy hosted site, using the following page's directions on adding custom groups: http://docs.joomla.org/Custom_user_groups

Every time I alter the groups table to create custom groups, I lose access to the backend portion of the site as a Super Administrator. Can anyone assist with a solution to this problem? If needed, I do have a local copy of the table saved in .sql.

I'd really appreciate it, as I'm trying to set this system up for a non-profit organization and cannot afford to spend $75/hr on support.

Hey Olaf,

Thank you for responding. I would check out Joomla! 1.6, but being as I'm using the application free through GoDaddy, I have to wait for GoDaddy to start supporting that version.

Until then, I will relook through the thread you've redirected me to. I haven't found someone stating the same issue so far, as what most people in that thread are saying is that they can still login to the backend. I, on the other hand, cannot login to the backend at all after adding my own custom groups. As I said before, if you need to see my groups table, please let me know.
