I would like to be contacted by whomever this matter concerns to correct my account being blocked. I understand Your Name must be available when your profile is viewed instead of initials. I must have not responded in a timely fashion, excuse my being late to respond.

Hey i have same issue, im getting user has been either blocked or not enabled error message, the username is perthjug.

Please what is the issue as i was never notiffied of there being an issue so that i have a chance to fix it. Only thing i was notified of was months ago and i addressed the issue and did what i was told.

you changed it to JUGWA which is not aceptable. Therefore it was suspended by the team.

which reals persons name did you want it to be?

Ok sorry but have you ever heard of user error, people make mistakes and rather than shutting them down straight away warn them yeah. Change the username to jamesashworth, FYI it was the profile for the Joomla user group of Perth and we are in the process of getting to changed to Joomla User group of Western Australia. Hense the change.

I admit it was my bad but my account was block mearly hours after the change without any prior warning.

Quite disappointed, let me know when i am able to log back in and i will change the DISPLAY NAME (yes that is right all i changed was the display name) back to JUG Perth which was what it was originally meant to be (and was allowed to be as that has been approved)

Or do i need to create a group for JUG Perth? I was told JUG Perth for the display name was ok by one of the JUG people

You can create a group for the JUG, with the JUGWA name. can you say who on the JUG team said it was a suitable for a profile so we can prevent this happening again

A group name can be (reasonably) anything, but all individual profiles display name must be a real persons name.
i am not sure what you meant by the original profile display name was approved, only groups need to be approved, as individual profile diplay names are taken on trust of people reading and following the http://people.joomla.org/guidelines.html

FYI guide lines state

Technically the username and even the display name did not represent either company or website. it represented what it was for. Guidlines do not state anything about not having an approved JUG name as the username as an approved JUG name does not represent a compnay (as technically its not) or a website.

Also

I dont believe any content related to my profile breached the above guideline

Oh And

Done this and after couple weeks still nothing, no access over the smallest issue

To clarify, after discussing with the site admins at PJO,
your access has not been re enabled as you stated that you do not want to use a real name for your profile display name (your sign in name does not matter)

jugperth is an unacceptable profile display name, so is jugwa.

Look a at it this way, you were sent the standard request to change your profile display name to a real persons name, you didnt, you changed it to a jug name. So in the eyes of the PJO admin team and PJO moderators, this is not following the rules & guidelines, and therefore you were suspended as a matter of course.
to repeat the question, which real persons name did you want it to be? the account profile display name will then be modified to that name and reenabled.

but if you actually quote the rest of the post i also continued to ask:

anyway argument aside change it to james ashworth let me know when its done so i can log in i will also provide you the original messages from the jug team user (if they are still there) that told me jugperth was alright

FYI i never recieved a standard request to change it to a real person, what i was asked months ago was to change it from perth jug to jug perth, i even asked "so do i change it to jug perth" and the reply was yes.

Apart from that i never recieved any message stating to change it to a real person name, first email i got regarding this issue was stating my account was blocked

you can create a "group" http://people.joomla.org/groups.html for perth or jugwa, that is acceptable

FYI: the only message i recieved about renaming the display name was from gnuma and the convo is below:

so as you can see by rights i never did anything wrong

thankyou for unlocking my profile, though in future a simple message rather than a imediate lockout (like a warning) with maybe 2 weeks to act would be better

just a suggestion, you will probably find it would make your life easier to
