Hello

Seems about 2 weeks ago that the YooSlider extension no longer works with Google Chrome ?

I am currently using Google Chrome version 7.0.517.41

Everything has been working fine for the last year or so but now all mouse over actions with regard to YooSlider generate nothing in Chrome. This extends to the YooSlider demo page on the YooTheme site.

http://www.yootheme.com/tools/extensions/yooslider

I did email the developers this morning to see what may be going on. I am not aware of any changes or updates I have made to Chrome that may have caused this loss of functionality

Any input or suggestions are greatly appreciated - seeing as I do love using this extension.

Note: Yoo Carousel appears to function still in Chrome without issue.

Me too, I've noticed the same problem. For some reasons, Chrome 7.x doesn't display YooSlider in the right way. Everytime I put the mouse over YooSlider module, the debug tool shows me the following output:

Code:
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object HTMLElement],1 has no method 'getStyle'
YOOslider.Class.itemFx:1
returns/media/system/js/mootools.js:21
(anonymous function)/media/system/js/mootools.js:21
(anonymous function)/media/system/js/mootools.js:50
Element.Methods.Events.fireEvent/media/system/js/mootools.js:50
Element.Events.Abstract.mouseenter.map/media/system/js/mootools.js:52

I've tried to upgrade mootools version but it doesn't solve anything. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I did hear back from support - noting I also no longer have an active paid subscription.

I was informed that they did get the email and would pass it on to the development team.

Hello,

I'm also running into problems, when using the article editor. It got broken as of the update of Google Chrome from version 6 to 7 (6 still works)

Broken features:
- After using the HTML-source editor, the normal editor isn't shown anymore
- When I use the 'table row remove button', the editer is also 'removed' or not shown anymore

I'm using Joomla 1.5.8 (it's hosted by someone else, so I probably cannot update to a newer version soon)

I have the same problem. I hope Chrome will get an update soon and the slider will work again. The plugin works fine in Firefox, Safari, IE...so... I just love Chrome browser and I need YooSlider for my sites.

UPDATE: YooTheme already released an updated Slider that fixes the issue. Available for download now.

I just posted the following to YooTheme's Slider Support Forum. If you have any pertinent information that might help, please feel free to reply and I'll add it. Also, they don't appear to have a response yet, just FYI :

Bump. Slider is consistently the only item not working (i.e. Other Mootools powered fx and components are fine, including menu, lightbox, etc...)

Confirmed not working:

Google Chrome Version( 7.0.517.41) on Win7(x64)
Google Chrome Version( 7.0.517.41) on Mac OS X (10.6.4)

All other browser, OS Combinations work fine with no errors in the console. Otherwise, getting this error:

Uncaught TypeError: Object [object HTMLLIElement],2 has no method 'getStyle'
YOOslider.Class.itemFx:1
returns/my/path/to/mootools/mootools.js:21
(anonymous function)/my/path/to/mootools/mootools.js:21
(anonymous function)/my/path/to/mootools/mootools.js:50
Element.Methods.Events.fireEvent/my/path/to/mootools/mootools.js:50
Element.Events.Abstract.mouseenter.map

*The only thing changed above is my path to mootools.js - but everything else is directly from Chrome's Console.

Also, this was apparently an issue with the Prototype library when Chrome was still in Beta - not sure if the fix applied there would pertain to this error, but worth checking in to.

Finally I resolved the issue copying "mod_yoo_slider.js" from YooSlider Demo Page (it works now!) to my module folder ;)
Enjoy it (and thanks to all)!

It seems yooslider still doesn't work on demo yoo page. http://www.yootheme.com/tools/extensions/yooslider
Why yoo team doesn't fix it if they have the solution?

Right now YooSlider works on Chrome, at least on the Yootheme page http://www.yootheme.com/tools/extensions/yooslider

I see that i had 1.5.13 (feb 2008), and since 1 week they have 1.5.14 ("Updated on 26 October 2010"). That should be the update for Chrome i guess

now to find out how YooSlider should be updated; simply install it, patch it via FTP, uninstall+install?

oh yes I've seen that now it works on the yootheme demo...
If anyone has an account on yootheme forum, could post or search anything yooslider related about this problem?
I really need to solve it and I don't want to spend another 50$ to get a new subscription for their problem!! do you suggest me to contact them directly? do they answer back usually to a non-subrscipted user?

darkless, the answer is that you need to install the latest version of YooSlider.
1.5.14 does not have this problem anymore

i uninstalled the previous version, and installed the new version, and everything worked again.
took me 1 minute

take a screenshot of the settings in the YooSlider, before you uninstall it. Then you can simply put the right settings back in the new install.
like this you dont have to spend 50$ for 1 minute work :pop

@darkless & @tafo, I don't understand. I have the latest version of Chrome and YooSlider still doesn't work on yoo demo page. On what version of Chrome did you solve the problem?

it's the same version!
just try deleting the cache of chrome ;) it needs to use the newest version of the javascript and maybe your chrome still use the one on the cache

(you'll need to do the same once you substitute the .js on your website)

I'm confused.. I have the slider version 1.5.13 dated Feb 2008. it doesnt work in chrome, but the demo page works fine in chrome. This means I have to get the newest version of the slider, but I dont have a subscription anymore.. Is there an alternative or do i have to pay for another subscription :(

if you subscribe at Yoo again, you will get all the extensions and templates with updates.

I would never recommend to get unofficial joomla addons:
they can contain malware, the version can be incorrect, there's no updates

.. and most of all: if you make some good sites, it all pays off.

Hi, I am using yooslider and it works sometimes with Chrome 8.0 but not in other computers with the same browser. And it doesn't work with Internet Explorer 8.0.
The text appears but there is no slide movement when I do mouse over, the text does not expand.
Can you help me?
This is a link to the page
http://melton.huji.ac.il/index.php?lang=en
And the slider is in use below the button that says "Fields of expertise".
It is driving me crazy.
Thanks!
