How do I access the Front Page Manager?

http://docs.joomla.org/Help16:Content_Featured_Articles doesn't help (see screenshot).

Alternatively, how do I order articles via the Article Manager? Featured articles always display first even if I set the option to published date under the com_content option. And if no articles are featured, nothing displays.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Go to Article Manager, you would see a tab named Featured Articles.

Thanks for the note about the Documentation. If you notice, the page was last modified on 30 August 2010, at 16:00. In that period Joomla! 1.6 was in the development stage. After that it has undergone so many changes.

No doubt that this and other corresponding changes need to be modified.

If you want, you could do that as well. Just create login and then you could edit or create documents.

Thanks for the reply. I guess it's implied that at least one article has to be featured? Because like I said,

if no articles are featured, nothing displays.

Also, how do you order articles under the Featured tab? They're grayed out.

Click on the column header Ordering. Once it is done the column will become editable.

Note: Review of the discussion http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?p=2478003 could be of help.

I recently installed version 1.7 of Joomla. Within the Backpage can't find the Frontpage Manager. I have carefully read the previous messages, online help, etc. and not find a way to activate or install it.

Any help is welcome.

AO.

Hi,

I started learning Joomla 7 days ago and there are lots of blurry things about it. I'm reading Barrie M. North's book about Joomla 1.5 but 1.7 looks different. I dont have Front Page Manager too.

I felt like the same when I reached the section menu in the book (section manager). After surfing the web for 2 hours I found that sections and categories merged in Joomla 1.6. I think this Front Page Manager is deprecated as well.

No longer Front Page Manager is available 1.6/1.7. It is known as Featured Articles in 1.6/1.7.

Oh I see, thanks. I saw it after reading this topic too but it is empty for me. Is it normal? Thank you!

If you have not installed the sample data, it would be empty. You have to identify articles as Featured Articles.
