I am having difficulty registering in joomla people.

Filled out the form
Got an email stating:

"Thank you for registering at Joomla! People. Your account detail is as follow:

Username: kristi-j
Password: xxxxxxxx (not my real password)

Once you have completed the rest of registration process, you will receive another email with activation link"

Tried to complete the rest.

Denied access: Message "asks if I did not receive the email with activation link. "

No I did not get it but there is no way for me to answer that, as far as I can see.

But there is no way I can complete the rest. When I put in my user name and password access is denied asking if I did not get an email with a link or something like that. So I tried to register again but it says my email address is already taken (it is by me!) So I can't login or register again.

Any advice?

I tried login again and tried registering again, but my email address is already taken (by me of course)


Login denied! Your account has either been blocked or you have not activated it yet. Did you not get an activation e-mail and follow the validation link?


Help! :'(

I advertised on kijiji for someone experienced in joomla in the area and the only response I got was someone offering to switch my website to WORDPRESS for $150

I am living in a small town Buckhorn, Ontario, Canada and no one here knows joomla, in fact the larger nearby city of Peteborough has not produced any results from kijiji

That was a quick fix for kristi-j! I'm having the same issue. I actually tried to register twice with my two e-mail addresses and didn't have any luck either time. And yes, I did check my spam box. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry, mandville. I signed up with two user names: jobbydesign and jobnet. I'd prefer to use the jobbydesign name, as this is my name on the forums here.

and that is why the system probably "disabled" you,
remember the rules and guidelines at PJO http://people.joomla.org/guidelines.html
the bydesign user name is enabled, but if you use that as a profile name, be prepared to face the "login denied" page
your other account is removed from circulation
