Recent versions of sigplus automatically extract IPTC metadata from images (data like headline, summary, title, etc. saved into the image file itself) if no labels.txt file exists. In addition, the activation tag syntax
Code:
{gallery labels=filename}folder{/gallery}
will use file names as captions, e.g. supposing the folder fruit contains files Apple.jpg, Banana.jpg and Lemon.jpg, sigplus will use image captions Apple, Banana and Lemon provided that a captions engine is enabled. For details, see the Filename for labels in the list of configuration options.

If you are already familiar with the documentation, you must also be familiar with the list of error messages:
Quote:
Image folder folder is expected to be a path relative to the image base folder specified in the administration back-end.

The image (gallery) folder is the folder you specify with the {gallery}folder{/gallery} activation tag. An example is birds, which is set with {gallery}birds{/gallery}. The image base folder is the folder you specify in the administration back-end as a plug-in configuration option. An example is images/stories, which corresponds to the usual article image folder of a Joomla 1.5 installation. When looking for images to display, sigplus concatenates these two to get the folder where the images are and prefixes it with the Joomla root folder. In our example, this could mean the absolute file system path /home/username/www/images/stories/birds. The folder has to exist and be accessible to Joomla.
In particular, this means that folder in
Code:
{gallery labels=filename}folder{/gallery}
has to be substituted with a folder name that exists in your file system inside the folder images/stories (assuming you have not changed any of the default settings). Typing "folder" (without substitution of an existing folder) will trigger that error.

thanks it's works

maybe i'm miss in {gallery}sigplus/folder{/gallery)
i think it's same way, whatever syntax, so i'm move folder to images/stories/folder or syntax {gallery}folder{/gallery} and I config on parameters (maybe i change before, i can't remember) to default (just i remember the default settings)

once again, thanks for your advice

:D

I had some trouble with understanding how labels worked, but I figured it out (finally). Here is a video tutorial that may help others (as well as sample title/caption files).

Thanks for the great help on this post - I have now managed to get the titles automatically showing using the filenames.
BUT... there's always a but isn't there... I would like these titles to show in uppercase. Is that possible? Joomla media manager converts image filenames to lowercase when uploaded, so maybe it's a Joomla issue rather than Sigplus?
Any help welcome,
Thanks

Update - I got a reply from the helpful folks at Sigplus - it's more of a "user" problem
:-[
Just need to upload my images using FTP so they keep their uppercase/lowercase mix and voila - all good in Sigplus titles.

Is there any way to remove the Description Text all together? The images in the gallery have IPTC data but I do not want to have it displayed. I am probably missing something but I haven't been able to see it in the documentation :-[
