I'm getting the same error message. Looked through the post, but nothing helps. These are siteground templates. I've never had a problem with Siteground before. I have 4 of them. I'm trying to delete 2 of them of which are NOT the default template.
I'm going to Extensions > Template Manager > Styles Tab (that may be the problem) > Check the appropriate template box > hit delete and I get the message: Cannot delete last style of a template.

When I go to the Template tab, it shows the pictures of the templates, but I don't see anywhere to actually delete them from the Template tab ??? I would think that would be the appropriate place, not the Styles Tab. ???

Edit: I thought I was posting in a thread where this issue was being discussed, but I had to log in first. Then when I logged in, it took me to the "previous page" and a blank post. I posted, but now I see this has been posted as a NEW post.

I'll leave this for now and just note that I had posted it in the "Bug Department" ;D viewtopic.php?f=579&t=521098&p=2587452#p2587452

Maybe someone will have an "easy fix" for this problem. Have never run into this before.

Not sure if it's a bug, a glitch, me, the templates, ?? dunno.

This should do it:
Extensions> Extension manager> Manage> Tick template to be deleted> Click "Uninstall".

Also need to ensure that the template to be un-installed is not a default.

Oh well, but the template still shows up in the "Extensions" --> "Template manager" so the "Uninstall" does not uninstall everything. To me it seems that the database entry still remains.

So if you for example go to the "Module Manager" and choose a module to edit the "Position" the uninstalled templates still shows up there too.

I'm using 1.7

The uninstall should also delete the entry in the template manager, if it is not doing so, then that is related to your particular installation. Have double checked this and it does delete the template in the template manager.

Then something is not working at cloudaccess.net, where I just tried this out. I tried to uninstall the pre-installed templates but as said it's still showing up in the template manager.

Thanks Kengun, This worked for 1.7:
This should do it: Extensions> Extension manager> Manage> Tick template to be deleted> Click "Uninstall".

i had a similar problem, uninstalled templates which were not removed by the module manager. the best way to assure their removal was logging in with a ftp client and deleting the file (they're easy to find under /templates).
