What are the obvious reason of why it must be private? As I stated before the developer doesn't mind it being discussed as he already mentioned in this forum topic.

As far as I'm aware there are *no* obvious reasons *other than* to protect the developer, so please share if I've missed something.

Kind regards,
Nick

Secondly if that is the stance of the JED Team why did the leader of the JED publicly disclose emails (without my consent) when all I asked in that forum post if something was the matter (due to their lack of response)? See:
viewtopic.php?p=2506936#p2506936
That was a private discussion and it should have been kept that way if that's the policy of the JED. If it's the policy of the JED Team to not share things publicly then it shouldn't just be applied when it best suits them.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Alikon,

Yes, I know you're not on the JED Team :)

What you have to realize is that the person who you just quoted (mlipscomb) is the same person who did the *opposite* of the first sentence that you just quoted (see link above in my last post). So quoting something like that doesn't hold much weight, if any at all.

As to the interest, it's about doing what's right! HikaShop Starter was removed the first time from the JED for 30 days because Hikashop had parts of the description which were talking about features of the Essential and Business edition. That's the first time they were notified by the JED that there was a problem with HikaShop Starter. After correcting the description and the 30 days were past, HikaShop Starter was republished on the JED. That was in May.

This time, HikaShop Starter was unpublished and their user account suspended 3 months and 1 week ago (end of June) FOR A RULE THAT'S NOT IN THE TOS. Looking at their extension listing, the same problem is displayed as before. However, their extension description only contains features from the starter edition as stated earlier by Hikashop. Also, Hikashop earlier in this discussion stated that concerning the account suspension they were notified by the JED that the reason was that they propose other extensions not licensed under the GPL. Even though that's not in the TOS, Hikashop has now obliged to the all-mighty demands.

In sum, they've been suspended for 3 months and 1 week for a rule that's non-existant in the mutually agreed upon terms of service, so essentially the JED Team did a bait-and-switch and by doing so violated their own TOS. Now Hikashop has gone above and beyond to meet the hidden rule.

Something needs to be fixed here...

Kind regards,
Nick

I'm so glad we had the option to use hikashop. Around early october after building site in j1.6 and needing an ecommerce option we were really stuck since we had to configure the store for use with authorize.net. Got very lucky that the component was republished right around the time our deadline was fast approaching. While it has taken a while to ramp up, it seems far superior to VM imo. Thank you to the developers for saving my behind.
