I have been eagerly waiting for a new Rease of Joomla where subcategories can be added into multiple Parent Categories. or Cloning the sub category and submitting it to other categories.

Do let me know if the current version has it ???

Thanks

This is possible in Joomla 1.7. Unlimited subcategories is possible. Adding an article to multiple categories is not possible

Hi Leo,

I am aware that joomla 1.7 has unlimited subcategories.

The Problem is Each sub-category can be assigned to one Parent Category. I would like the sub-category to be assigned to multiple Parent Catergories? eg for a Directory listing

I am looking for Articles to be submitted in Multiple Categories, which version would this happen?

Not possible at present and no planning for near future as well. You will need to use a CCK solution to realize that at present

Leo,

I dont think this is possible in Joomla 1.7, I would like to know if this is part of the next release.

Thanks

I did a manual update from 1.7.0 to 1.7.1

I am having the the following errors- on the top of my page in both front and backend a - Array /> Array /> Array /> - appears??

I did a manual update and updated the database manually.

I also see that in my admin section - JGLOBAL_VIEW_SITE - is in the top right and Next to View site??? Why would this display twice??

Any help please!!!!

I guess you had done before an update from 1.6.x
And this update did not go OK at all because you did it on a < 1.6.5 site...
Basically, in 1.7.0 there are changes in the admin templates, changes in database and others.

I think a strong warning should be added to the updater and on the Joomla downloads page that the update contains template updates

I had created a site for a client from scratch using the default beez_20 and completely restyling it based on PSD files supplied to me. I was horrified after doing the update to discover that all CSS had been overwritten.

Luckily I have an automated back up system in place and could restore my css from last night's back up but others may not be so lucky if they have chosen to build on the default templates.

Just a thought!

A strong warning indeed is needed for all doing these things! You should never, ever directly change core code. Refer to the documentation section which describes 'overrides in Joomla! @ fostermm: use template overrides as you should have done initially and you never face these issues!
