This means that the column was already created.
Was the update OK otherwise? I.e. do you see the new multilanguage status module in the Module Manager=>Administrator section?
Does the version 1.7.2 displays on the bottom of the administrator interface.

I noticed there was a <joomla root>/cli/ folder created with this release, but I couldn't find any information on its purpose (now or in the future). Any clues?

Yes ;-) This was introduced already in Joomla 1.7.1 and a search for cli on this forum would have given you amongst others: viewtopic.php?p=2635021#p2635021

Hi,
I use 1.7.0,
Just downloaded (Joomla_1.7.0_to_1.7.2-Stable-Patch_Package) to joomla! folder through FTP,
Then extract it from CPanel ->File Manager
Every thing went well.

Regards

I doubt.
The pack has to be INSTALLED and not FTPed.
There are changes in the db which can't be ran if using only ftp to overwrite the files.
For example, check for the presence of the multilanguage status module in the Module Manager=>Administrator
With PhpMyadmin, you may also check the other changes below.
Code:

Hi Mr. infograf768,
Thanks for advice,

I said the update went ok because the version was 1.7.2 in the Joomla! administration panel.
I didn't take care from the DB updates, that was with the Live site :'( .

Now, when i try to install the package ( from 1.7.0-1.7.2) i receive this message:
JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Warning: Failed to move file!

On localhost, I have NOT replaced the files, Now tried to install the package,
received this message:
JInstaller: :Install: Error SQL DB function failed with error number 1060
Duplicate column name 'ordering' SQL=ALTER TABLE `abc_languages` ADD COLUMN `ordering` int(11) NOT NULL default 0 AFTER `published`;
SQL =

ALTER TABLE `#__languages` ADD COLUMN `ordering` int(11) NOT NULL default 0 AFTER `published`;

Files Update: SQL error file DB function failed with error number 1060
Duplicate column name 'ordering' SQL=ALTER TABLE `abc_languages` ADD COLUMN `ordering` int(11) NOT NULL default 0 AFTER `published`;
SQL =

ALTER TABLE `#__languages` ADD COLUMN `ordering` int(11) NOT NULL default 0 AFTER `published`;

I've replaced the files in the package update with files in Joomla! folder
, , , with sorrow, I've done this for 2-1.7 sites, and one 1.5.23 site.

( Also when updated from 1.5.22-1.5.23 before months, I've done the same)

So, how to solve this issue?

Regards

The messages mean that these specific db updates were done on your local host and this is normal as these were already done for 1.7.0.

You could not have any issues for the 1.5 versions as updating database never existed for these.

Other question please,
infograf768 wrote:

This mean that the update from 1.5.22-1.5.23 and 1.5.23-1.5.24 have no db changes?
Just some files replacement?

Regards

It may now have been updated if you installed the pack.
Check if you have in Module Manager=> Administrator the new back-end module multilanguage status

See picture concerning the module.
Attachment:
Picture-10.gif

The update can't have added 3 tables.
As far as I know, only the _associations table was added since 1.6.
If you have not added any 3 pd extensions, the db should have 34 tables in 1.7.2

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Yes sir, the module isn't available in my Joomla! control panel.

For the db tables, I've ( external ) 6 tables.
Just 34 for Joomla! package.

When i try to install the update package, i receive this message:
I tried to install a module, and received the same warning message:
JFolder::create: Could not create directory

The status in my Directory Permissions as follows:
All directories are Writable except (Log directory) & (Temp directory)

Is there manual method to install the update package?

Regards

I updated a site from 1.7.0 to 1.7.2, and now I see in the front-end Array /> Array /> Array /> Array /> , in the top of the page. In the admin I see Array />. I have a custom template in the front and Bluestork in the admin. Where do the array tags come from?

Static errors are caused by a specific setting in your php.ini
Try changing error reporting

to

error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_STRICT

I updated a site from 1.7.0 to 1.7.2, and now I see in the front-end Array /> Array /> Array /> Array /> , in the top of the page. In the admin I see Array />. I have a custom template in the front and Bluestork in the admin. Where do the array tags come from?
How did you upgrade? Try switching the front end template and see if the error goes away. Same for the backend.

Kind regards,
Nick

I upgraded by uploading the files in the J!1.7.0. to 1.7.2 patch package.
Switching templates doesn't change anuthing.
