Hi all,

While troubleshooting, I unwittingly decided to unpublish all my plugins. Now I can't get into the backend admin area, as the Admin Login shows this message:

JAuthentication: :__construct: Could not load authentication libraries.
Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem in 1.7? I searched the forum database, but all the answers seem to be for earlier versions and there's no way to restrict the search by Joomla version.

can you go to your database? perhaps phpMyAdmin?
- #__extensions filter/search type=plugin folder=authentication
- at least 1 plugin enabled

Thanks for your reply. I did as you suggested, and after experimenting for a while, I figured it out. I turned on all the authentication plugins; that turned off the warning (above), but my password did not authenticate. I turned on a few more selective plugins, and I got in. Not certain which plugin did the trick, as I turned on a handful.
