Hi all,

After installing to 1.7 I've noticed that any changes I make to the administration panel don't show up immediately - this happens almost everywhere including menus, modules, components, articles, etc. The page will refresh as if the changes are being made, but nothing actually happens and sometimes I'll get an error. It also happens in the front-end, such as when I'm trying to register or log in. I'm planning on building an e-commerce website and if this keeps up, will probably result in people registering multiple times and accidentally placing multiple orders (I've already done it!) so I'd like to get this fixed.

I thought that it might be a caching issue, but caching is disabled. Any other ideas and parts that I should be looking into? Any help would be appreciated.

but caching is disabled
Where, in Global config, the Plugin or on the Server ? (not that servers cache sites ?).

Try a different Browser ?

It's disabled in the global settings. Changing browsers didn't seem to fix the problem.

    I changed browsers
cleared all cache on both browsers
cleared cache on "maintenance" in Joomla admin

using Firefox 7 and Safari 4 on Mac OSX 10.6.8

Changes are not appearing upon refresh~ I am having this problem too. I tried all the little tricks I could think of as stated above.

when I clear all history then the page will show up only after I click on another page or menu item and then click on "contact me" again.

to put it another way

I have to clear all history each time I want to view changes made in the admin.

:Or in other words

Each time I want to refresh the contact menu item page ~ ~ I have to clear all history on both firefox 7 and safari 4 on mac osx 10.6.8 joomla 1.7

This is happening with any kind of page/ article I try to make.

However, the issue is still there and I have also searched on the official joomla! forum and I have seen that there are a few other posts with this issue but no one has any solutions.

Also, I did update to 1.7.3
and I tried 3 different browsers and two different installations of joomla! (both 1.7) ~

this is happening on all 3 major browsers and on both of my sites.

strange isn't it? maybe bug? Must be...huh yea could be? well...I think so.....? yea i think ur right! (speaking to self now....slowly going completely mad!) haha!

I'm right there with you Brother! I tried to change templates to see if that was the problem. Well, it will not take the change to be able to tell. Like you I've tried to change everything. I hope we can find help? :(

Glad it worked for you! As I mentioned above, caching is already disabled in the system and I'm still having some problems. I'm wondering if it could be a server thing...I'll keep trying it out!

I believe I'm experiencing the same difficulty, I add a new article to the menu, but although I save it and everything checks out the menu drop-down does not show the new menu item.

I refreshed the browser cache, used CCleaner to clean everything up for Pete's sake, logged off my machine and logged on. Item still not showing up in the drop-down of menu items.

If memory serves, what I have to do is go away and forget about it. Come back later. We'll see if that works this time around! If it does, then I'm guessing there's caching on the server side with our host, although why that would affect menus in particular and not articles, I don't know. I can certainly get to the article, with the article and menu IDs. So Joomla is seeing the article, and has it attached to a menu.

By the way, I did check the system cache module, and it was disabled already.

And sure enough, the submenu item has appeared now, with no further changes on my part.
