Hi all -

I am new to Joomla, and have experience with HTML & CSS - less so with PHP, but I'm willing to learn. :)

I've been playing with the Beez template, and am having a bit of trouble figuring out how to customize the frontpage. What I want is full width with no columns on the front page, but a continuing left handcolumn for navigation on all lower pages.

I am also going to want to include a slideshow only on the homepage at full width.

I figured out how to turn off the side navigation on the homepage, but I'm still seeing space for it.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
