Yes, thats not an error. It just looks like when you are looking at the logout view of com_users. When does this appear? straight after login? or when you perform a specific function?

It is an error message that displays instead of the expected content.

Re: You are currently logged in to the private area of this
Kina, any idea why this is happening? I am also experiencing the same issue. I have to say though, after trying so many times on many machines and browsers, it does work sometimes randomly when you login for the first time, logout and in again, and that screen will show up when you access the private content.
I want to say it's a caching issue, but caching is disabled on my installation.
Any ideas?

Re: You are currently logged in to the private area of this
I have my own caching code so indeed is not caching related.
Decided to write my own login and user session code to replace the Joomla code. Now everything works fine. This is my J1.5 site (the video based one). Replaced caching, login and session tracking, editor, language handling, SEF, administrator, template handler, template, ACL and some others; not much of Joomla left. It really rocks now, despite being very graphics heavy.
Also given up on Kunena forum and wrote my own that is 1% the code size and much faster. The aim is to have written everything from scratch from the CMS (done) to all the most used extensions. It's quicker than trying to fix existing code that is arcane and incomprehensible.

kind can you provide more information what you did? (for example, where to edit exactly etc.) I am another one experiencing this problem on my website.

Re: You are currently logged in to the private area of this
I administer a Joomla site and have a number of users that have this problem and need to find a solution!
1) I recently was able to create it on my test machines.
2) On my test hardware (Windows 7/IE and Windows 7/Firefox) within the same IP, multiple accounts show the same 'private area' meassge when accessing SOME but not all https pages.
3) Same accounts, same hardware, using Chrome, works fine.
4) Same accounts on hardware outside my test IP work fine.
5) Most users dont have this problem, but once they do, its over unless they use Chrome.
Seems like it a machine (IP) / browser / session issue.
7) Cleared local machine cache,
6) Cleared the Joomla _Session db table and PHP session files. No fix, same problem
Any ideas how to reset something to free up these machines.
