How do I get the "Remember Me" checkbox on the login module to work?

I have the system plugging "remember me" enabled.
I am running joolma 1.7, no community extensions at all, just clean joomla.

When a user logins in using the login module, there is a check box "Remember Me" presumably so that when the user comes back later they are already logged in. This is not the case however.

Thanks
Andy

I have this same issue. The strange thing is that after the J 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 update ( and later the 1.7.2 ) that is when this issue became apparent. The browser is storing the cookies but the site is not recognizing them. I always have to hit the "login" button again to get back in.

I've have the same. I can't get the "remember me" working. When I hit "remember me" and login, close the browser and revisit later on the website I'm logged out! The plugin is enabled, I tried all different settings (cache, no cache, sef, no sef ect). Nothing helps! Is it a bug in de Joomla 1.7 series?
Or does it has something to do with this issue!

I'm using a different template now. All browsers respond well except IE 9.0! IE 9.0 doesn't keep the login information by return. So it's for sure for me that IE sucks...
