Hello,

Ive got a question. Suddenly i have this strange error when saving an article. I have no idea where it comes from, nothing changed.

JCacheStorageFile::_deleteFolderJFolder: :delete: Could not delete folder. Path: /home/vhosts/mydomain.nl/subdomains/webs/httpdocs/cache/com_content

When i look into that folder with ftp the folder doesnt exist. So the fact it cant be deleted is correct. When i manually create the com_content directory it gets deleted.

I have Joomla 1.7.3 installed at a hosting company. It worked like a charm for like 4 weeks. then 2 days ago i suddenly got this message when saving a new article.

Can someone tell me what i can do to make this go away. If more infos are needed i am more then happy to supply.

Thanks in advance.

Jack

this caused by a cache-folder not being writable entirely, or even some cache-files missing. If you move sites, make sure that you NEVER copy cache-folders along with it, because these cache-data might refer to specific domains and specific filepaths that don't exist anymore. I would suggest you clean all cache-folders through FTP or SSH manually.

So we moved a site and also moved the cache-folders. Now if we try using any caching settings (on) we get this error when we save an article. I have not been able to delete content of the cache folder either through Joomla or via FTP. Any suggestions? Do I need to re-install Joomla?

check the username of your files & folders and the permission you have, also if you can't delete it through ftp, your host will surely help you as its just a permission issue.

hope it helps!!

Hi everyone,

I am getting this error JFolder::delete: Couldn't delete folder

here is system detail:
Joomla 1.5.17
php 5.3.2
server Apache
Description: my joomla manage more than 100 sites
Folder Username Permission
cache myuser 777
cache/All Directory Apache 755
cache/All Files Apache 644

I am able to delete all these files and folders from FtP, also if i write a php script and run with my browser i can delete these files and folders, but i get JFolder::delete error at first load of my sites and it goes away as soon as we refresh the page.

any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks & Best Regards
