Am in the process of migrating a site from 1.5 to 2.5. Jupgrade worked fine and I am working through fixing some of the content and accounting for unsupported extensions, etc.

I am having a problems with the category list.

The top category (ex section) displays correctly with its description. Below are the subcategories.

Q1: The label "Subcategories" - can it be changed? Just for this one instance? Where? I'm not afraid of core hacks...

If i select one of the subcategories, i see a list of articles. Above the list of articles is a box labeled "Filter". Inside the box is the text "COM_CONTENT__FILTER_LABEL" and a search box.

The text "COM_CONTENT__FILTER_LABEL" looks buggy - like a system variable name instead of the value.

Q2: Where is this value set? Do I need to fix a core file to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

In /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_content.ini (I'm using J!2.5)
line 53 is:
COM_CONTENT_TITLE_FILTER_LABEL="Title Filter"

change to:
COM_CONTENT__FILTER_LABEL="Title Filter"

Note between CONTENT and FILTER there is a double underscore

Not sure if this is the correct way to do it as it may be the call to this variable that should be changed, however it does work so identifies the place of the problem.

Go to Articles Manager=>click Options toolbar icon and save at least once.
Then the filter_field will not be empty.

Generally speaking, when updating a 1.5 site, it is a good idea to re-save all default settings this way

Thank you Jean-Marie for this and for your manual!
I've just migrated from 1.5 to 2.5 and there are things needed to be ironed out!
