Hi

Can anybody help me please. No matter what I do, I can't seem to install extensions in via the install/uninstall route. I continuously get:



* JInstaller::install: Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.
* Unable to detect manifest file

Be it for a component, template, plugin...you name it, it just won't let me install. I've checked that the files aren't double zipped and if they are extracted them, single zipped them and then tried again, no luck.

Stuck for what to do, any solutions anybody? Running 1.5.5

Go to Help -> System Info and check the permissions on the Directory Permissions tab.

hello there, i have the same problem, as i am developing localy on JSAS.

i have all directories writeable, and ftp off.

JInstaller::install: Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.
Unable to detect manifest file

Cannont install components

same prob here

also working on Jsas, quite annoying error, any solutions avalable?

workaround is downloading joomlapc from extension pages

dont work with jsas anymore

that was the solution for me

hello guys: somebody help me!

im installing envolvechat in my local site im having this difficulties:

I'm installing JFusion on Joomla 1.7.3 and get the same problem
