Is ThaiSiteLanguagePack1.7.1v1 compatibe with Joomla 2.5 ?
It seems that Thai language pack, th-TH_joomla_lang_site.1.7.1v1.zip, is the latest release available as of today, but I'm having a difficult time using it with Joomla 2.5.1.
Is it compatible with Joomla 2.5 ?
Thank you

I used a Dutch translation pack for Joomla 1.7.x on a Joomla 2.5 website,
and noticed that some labels (e.g. a label in the email contactform) were missing.
So I'd guess that you could use a J1.7.x language pack on a Joomla 2.5 website,
but you'll have to add some missing translations.

Hi Peter,
Thank you very much for your reply. My situation is a little bit different: the whole page on front end goes blank.
I can reproduce it by the steps below.
1. a fresh installation of Joomla 2.5.1.
2. install th-TH_joomla_lang_site.1.7.1v1.zip
3. in Language Manager > Installed-site, make Thai as default.
4. on front end, entire page is blank.
5. in Language Manager > Installed-site, make English as default
6. beez2 template with the sample contents displays properly.
I did the same steps above on Joomla 1.7.3. Beez2 with the sample contents displayed properly with the Thai language in Login Form, Search Box, Readmore button properly.
Thank you
Toshi

There is a mistake in the Thai package
Edit with Notepad++ the file ROOT/language/th-TH/th-TH.localise.php
change line 220
from
to
and save the file encoded as UTF8 NO BOM
Edit with Notepad++ the file ROOT/language/th-TH/th-TH.localise.php
change line 220
from
Code: Select all
protected function dayToString($day, $abbr = false)
Code: Select all
public function dayToString($day, $abbr = false)

Akarawuth,
I attended Joomla Day Bangkok yesterday. It was quite informative, and I'm glad that I went.
Regarding the Thai language pack for Joomlar 2.5, I still don't see it in http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jtranslation1_6/frs/
Has the release been postponed ?
Thanks
Toshi

Under Extension Manager > Update, I don't see the new version listed.
Therefore, I have manually downloaded the new pack, but would it be safe to install it without removing the old version ?
Thank you.

Install via Extension Manager=> Install.
If was provided an auto update, you would not need to download the pack.
It is certainly safe, but, as usual, better test on a local installation.
