Hi all,

I like many am really impressed with Joomla but for whatever reason I am learning it so slowly. Is there an online course available to really get into the nuts and bolts of Joomla?

Not sure if these are the nuts and bolts you are looking for, but it can get you started:

http://docs.joomla.org/Developing_a_Mod ... Joomla!1.6

There are such tutorials available for creating modules and plugins as well.

A silly answer, I know, but a good way for me is still looking in the code itself, and 'reading' the core-components code and -classes.

As example, if you need to know how to write the install-file for your new extension: have a look into the JInstall-Class and the specific Adapter-Class, it is all there.

No documentation have more details, is such up to date, and shows you REALY ALL the possibilitys as the code itself. Not everyone's favorite way, but perfect for me ;)

Try it out
cheers
Roger

Here's an update on that tutorial by the way:

http://docs.joomla.org/Developing_a_Mod ... _-_Part_01

And this overview might be interesting as well: http://www.chillcreations.com/blog/22-j ... urces.html

I agree with Tribal6 that reading the code and the documentation provided by joomla (google a class name + joomla and you'll get quite some information about it). Though, as there is quite a bit of information, it might feel a bit like a maze in the beginning.
