I believe the issue lies in the apache server settings. Any knowledge of this. This is because the results change when I change the re-write settings.

Also, I have confirmed the copy is good, it's definitely not something about the jos_content.. which I did check.

I believe it has to do with the server it has been copied. It's a good server, but it's years newer running a new version of plesk, as well as php, mysql and probably apache.

Have you tried enabling Error Reporting in Joomla's Global Configuration settings(set it to Maximum and test) to see if it gives any helpful info for the issue? You can also try enabling Debug in there as well to see if that helps.

When you ran the Post Assistant it suggested you may have an ownership issue on the server, I also noticed that you had the wrong permission level set on most of your folders, that could be the cause of your problems. Try asking your Host to set your file and folder ownership to the Apache user and set the permissions to 755 folders and 644 for files.

Okay, if it was permission, then why would SEF not work, and without it would?

Key point: As I've reported, the images folder continues to show the original domain, rather than the IP Address. Therefore this would not be a sever permission issue, nor would it be a folder permission issue.

I have done the error check There aren't any. I have enabled PHP Error reporting, and it doesn't report and faults.

This is what shows in the debugging:

/var/www/vhosts/mycurrentdomain.com/httpdocs/language/en-GB/en-GB.ini 1

it should show:

/var/www/vhosts/xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/httpdocs/language/en-GB/en-GB.ini 1

I have searched on how to fix this, but the PHP itself should be pulling ip when in the IP mode right? Not the domain of the plesk server?

I am unclear, is the issue the extra trailing slash in the image url or is it the path in the image manager properties?

It looks like an issue with the way your Host has implemented the temporary IP addresses, even though they say your new site has the IP number pointing at it Joomla is still finding the path for your domain site. Did we ever try putting the path.php file in your new site's image folder and see what path the php script finds? If the IP DNS is set correctly it should find the IP address path.
path.zip
No php errors suggests it is not a script issue within Joomla, that suggests it is a server setting error.

Actually, I was looking at the Extension Manager install section and it shows the IP Address, not the domain.

However... The path does show that. I'm contacting my host now. Thanks. I saw the PHP Path file this afternoon on another search but didn't bother running it. I should have.

Well.. that may not be it. I installed jomla 2.5 on a subdirectory. I see the subdomain the same way in the control panel of the admin section. the temp directory it shows:

/var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs/ccs/tmp

But the difference in the link paths (and images) it puts a leading / even while sef is enabled.

I ran one of the assistants on the sub joomla folder. I don't know if that would be helpful.
