I just migrated/upgraded a site from 1.5.23 to joomla 2.5.3.
Everything went well and the DB is clean.

I reinstalled K2 (latest) and checked to see if my categories and items were still there. all went well so far.

I then went to my menu items and reassigned them to the k2 categories.
I get a 404 error message when clicking a k2 menu item, so I tried to make a new menu.

When I try to make a new menu item I get this warning:
Quote:
Warning: is_file() [function.is-file]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/metadata.xml) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/virtual/jungfrau-guide.ch/:/usr/share/php/) in /var/www/virtual/jungfrau-guide.ch/htdocs/jupgrade/libraries/joomla/filesystem/file.php on line 523

When I make a menu item here and save it it doesn't work with k2, only with content items.

What am I doing wrong? The warning tells me something but not what to do about it.

There are two sql commands that sometimes need to be run to get all the tables fixed up after upgrade. Also saving the categories and items again sometimes fixes the issues.

Did you mean this?
http://getk2.org/documentation/tips-a-tricks/item/311-manually-migrating-k2-content-from-joomla-15-to-17
Your link wasn't really clear.

Tried this:
Code:
UPDATE `j17_k2_items` SET created_by = j17_k2_items WHERE created_by = jos_k2_items

whereby j17_ is the new prefix and jos_ is the old prefix.

Got this:
Quote:
Error
SQL query:
UPDATE `j17_k2_items` SET created_by = jos_k2_items WHERE created_by = jos_k2_items
MySQL said: Documentation
#1054 - Unknown column 'jos_k2_items' in 'where clause'

My PHPadmin knowledge is not perfect

Same problem. I used jupgrade to update my joomla to 2.5, but my k2 will only work correctly on the front end if i deactivate the system:k2 plugin, otherwise I get some kind of 403 error on the entire site. Wouldn't be a problem except that by deactivating a crucial plugin for k2 to work, i'm hence getting an internal error resulting in me not seeing my items and categories (listed in the k2 control panel). Anyone know why? Anyone? Anyone?

I am having what seems to be the same or related issues upon multiple sites using Joomla 2.5. Each I have upgraded from Joomla 1.5 and none show the content that was migrated over. I migrated over through the JUpgrade route as well as migrated the content over a working layer of 2.5. I have also gone in and updated the access level to publish upon the items and categories. The only way I am able to see an item upon the front end is if it is one I created after the migration.

I am unclear as the directions above but am willing to give it a try. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
