Hello there:
My Joomla 2.5 website is not showing in IE9 but does in Firefox and Google chrome.
Its interesting to see that firefox uses http://www.hiccups.nl and this shows the website as intended.
IE9 uses http://www.hiccups.nl and this does not work. If i try to type in www.hiccups.nl in IE9 it jumps back to http://www.hiccups.nl and does not show anything only Page not found.
This problem occures since i have upgraded to joomla 2.5 from joomla 1.7.
Can anybody help me with this problem ???

Thank You

Its seems to load momentarily and then dies - I would start by checking that all your extensions are 2.5 compatible. Maybe turn a few off and see if the problem gets solved.

Hello:
Thanks for you suggestion, i tried switching off extensions one by one but it makes no difference.
IE9 gives back a blank page. I also checked and my extensions are all joomla 1.7 / 2.5 compatible.
Could it be that the searchengine crawlers have not yet indexed my pages again after the changes i have made. I use a different database as well and changed that accordingly in configuration.php
Strange thing is that the pages work in firefox and chrome.

Does it only fail with the current template? That would be my next suggestion - switch templates and see what happens.

Its a pity that IE doesn't even give us a clue as to why it fails!!!!

Hi tastrax:
I tried a standard joomla template and it works in IE9
So its due to the template. I find it strange that it worked in IE9 before i changed the database.
I have not got the skills to go into programming or anything like that.
Got some basic understanding of html and php but thats it.
Maybe i should contact the template builder because this template i have paid for and maybe they can help me.

If you purchased the template some time ago then it may not have been updated for 2.5 at the time you purchased it. If you still have the zip file then check and see if it included various versions. I suspect if you ask the designer they will supply an updated version for you.

IE is well known for breaking the rules for the web - many templates have special code for each new version of IE that fixes the problems that are found along the way. Your template has code for versions IE6 and IE7.

One alternative may well be to reload the template from the package you received.

Hi there:
I reloaded the template as suggested but there seems to be no change.
The template builder has send me a mail that he checked out my website and found no problems.
Thats strange because the problem still excists. Maybe he wants to get out of it.
Have you got anymore suggestions ??

Start shutting down one module at a time (and leave them off until you find the offending one). Check in firefox and IE every time you shut one down.

Ask the developer for a screen shot of your web home page with the internet explorer 9.0(?) "about screen" showing. It still fails on my machine (Windows 7, 64 bit)

Only works on my machine if I tick - Tools, Compatibility View in IE which many viewers wont do. Explain that to the developer.
