Who's online Module

At the moment my website:
http://www.booksouthitaly.com/index.php ... 11&lang=en
shows there are over 3600 visitors online using core Module j1.5 "who's online", is there a way or a tool to analize these visits, who's are they.
Are they real or are they mostly from spiders?
How can I find out?

This is the number of visitors in a period of time (set in Global Configuration -> Session Lifetime), including visitors and search engines (spiders)

Login to your hosting and open the logs program (awstats, webalizer,..) to view your site statistics.
